News desert
What happens where no one reports?
A news desert is a place no newsroom covers any more. The events still happen; they just go unrecorded, or arrive second-hand from outlets far away.
Deserts are where the copies move in. With no local reporting to check against, a republished story - or a pink slime site - becomes the only version there is.
