Like a giant cedar tree cut down, the passing of Ditidaht elder Michael Thompson (Kwiibaalaah) this summer left a mark on the Nuu-chah-nulth landscape, leaving the younger generation with less. He was the lone fluent speaker of the diitiidʔaaʔtx̣ (Ditidaht) dialect.
