Chandigarh: Punjab water resources minister Barinder Kumar Goyal on Monday claimed that groundwater extraction in the state had declined from 164% in 2022 to 152.22% in 2026, while the number of over-exploited assessment units fell from 117 to 110, and safe units increased from 17 to 20.
