THE Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Subic destroyed about 3,000 cases of abandoned cigarettes worth P129.065 million, wiping out the first batch from a larger stockpile valued at approximately P413 million. Packed in three 40-foot containers, the cigarettes were parts of 10 containers scheduled for disposal. They were condemned and destroyed from July 28 to Aug. 3 at Legaxy 88 Recyclable Materials Collection Services, an accredited facility in Santa Maria, Bulacan.
