      The Federal Executive Council (FEC) of Nigeria approved the acquisition and deployment of two new communications satellites, NigComSat-2A and NigComSat-2B, the Guardian reported. This is expected to help expand internet access to under-served and hard-to-reach communities. The satellites are manufactured by France's Thales Alenia Space and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), and will be deployed under the coordination of Nigeria Communications Satellite (NigComSat) and the ICT ministry.
