A Vietnam Veterans’ Day service commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan will be held on Tuesday, August 18, at 11 am at the Cenotaph on Sawyer Park by the Vietnam Veterans Association's Wimmera Branch with the assistance of the Horsham RSL sub-branch.

Services will be held around Australia today to mark Vietnam Veterans' Day along with the 60th anniversary of the War's fiercest conflict, the Battle of Long Tan. Australia's 11 year involvement in the controversial Vietnam War left many of the 60 000 conscripted and voluntary servicemen and women emotionally and physically scarred, and more than 520 dead. But some survivors find commemorations can help with the life-long healing process.
