College student Lillie Vehling rescued three girls from Lake Washington during Seafair weekend. She noticed the girls struggling beyond the buoy line and immediately entered the water. Vehling, a former lifeguard and water polo player, brought the girls to safety one by one. First responders arrived and provided medical assistance after the successful rescue.
