Při nehodách na silnicích na jižní Moravě letos o letních prázdninách zemřelo 16 lidí. Jde o nejhorší bilanci od roku 2019. Tehdy zahynulo při prázdninových nehodách také 16 lidí. Potvrzuje to předběžná statistika policie. Loni v létě přitom evidovala pouze pět mrtvých. O těchto prázdninách se meziročně zvýšil také celkový počet nehod.

Za posledních deset let zemřelo při nehodách na českých silnicích 711 motocyklistů. Počet nehod s jejich účastí je přitom výrazně vyšší než před deseti lety. Zatímco v roce 2016 jich policie evidovala 3180, loni už 3807. Téměř šest z deseti těchto nehod policie přisoudila jako zaviněné samotným motocyklistům, nejčastěji těm mladším do pětadvaceti let. U tragických havárií pak mezi příčinami výrazně dominuje nepřiměřená rychlost.
