Ukrainian composer Maxim Kolomiiets’s opera, with a libretto by American playwright George Brant, premieres in Warsaw on Oct. 16. The co-production by the Metropolitan Opera and Poland’s National Opera confronts Russia’s abduction of Ukrainian children through the stories of three women fighting to bring their families home.
