Ukraine’s human rights commissioner Dmytro Lubinets said on Wednesday, Sept. 16 that Russia has yet to approve an agreed humanitarian evacuation from occupied Oleshky in the Kherson region. More than 6,000 civilians, including around 200 children, may remain in the frontline area, with hundreds requiring urgent assistance to leave safely. “The city has been turned into a death trap,” Lubinets said.

Russian forces forcibly removed 25 civilians, including children, from an occupied part of the Kharkiv region and took them to an unknown location, Ukraine’s ombudsman said.
