E-5, a radio-collared elephant, demonstrated impressive swimming skills by crossing 9.43km of Bansagar backwaters. The tusker entered the backwaters 22 days ago and has now returned to north Shahdol. Forest officials reported that E-5 swam through deep waters with no current, which is unusual for elephants. E-5 also caused property damage and even resulted in a fatality during its journey.
