Fisherfolk and residents of Mumbai’s coastal villages will march on October 19, demanding that BMC scrap the proposed Manori desalination plant. At a Gorai meeting, residents raised concerns over seawater intake and brine discharge into the Arabian Sea. They alleged the project could affect fishing grounds, marine biodiversity and traditional livelihoods along the coastline.
