RUDRAPUR: Six improved crop varieties developed by scientists at Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, have received state approval for cultivation across different agro-climatic zones of Uttarakhand, with researchers expecting them to raise food and fodder output and improve farmers' incomes. The varieties cover rice, barley, maize, mustard, fodder sorghum and oat and were cleared at the 16th meeting of Uttarakhand State Seed Sub-Committee in Dehradun.
